Our question this week was:

My cat likes to eat pasta – is that bad? He loves it and is healthy as a horse. He has no problems from eating it. I love giving it to him now and then. His name is "Sammy" and he is part Maine Coon.

Answer

Hi – thanks for your email. Well, that is an interesting thing for your cat to want to eat. Some cats really do like all kinds of food. Well, to answer your question – there is nothing in the pasta that will hurt Sammy providing that he is healthy and not having any symptoms such as vomiting from eating the pasta. On the other hand, there is nothing that Sammy needs in the pasta!

Just make sure that Sammy's core diet is a good quality cat food. If you want to feed him a noodle or piece of pasta now and then – I don't see any harm.
