Our question this week was:

Dr. Debra - I have a yellow lab. He is shedding his winter coat. I brush him every day-taking off tons of hair. How long does this massive coat shedding last? Any other suggestions?

Irene Kener

Hi – thanks for your email Irene. You wrote that your yellow lab is shedding a lot. This can go one for weeks sometimes. Some dogs will shed all year but it is often worse in the spring/summer. The best thing you can do is a periodic bath and routine – daily brushing. Unfortunately, there is no secret solution to shedding.

Best of luck!
