Our question this week was:A question for you. I have two Persian cats - one female and the other male. The female is a very shy and timid cat. She used to spend her days on the next-door property, which has now been demolished over the last week. She had a little cubby hole within that property. She has not come home since the property was demolished which is totally out of character for her.
My question is would she have stayed in the cubby hole or done a runner from it and been scared away for a while. The bulldozers are still working in the area, which may still frighten her. I have spent many hours looking for her and out about 60 notices out to the neighbors-your comments please.
Gail Harris - New ZealandAnswerHi – thanks for your email. Cats can be very frightened by noises – especially building and contracting noises with large trucks and bulldozers. It is possible that the cat is still hiding. I have seen cats hide for hours or days. I don't know if she would have stayed in the cubby hole or if she would have run.
Please let us know if you see her.
Best of luck!
