Our question this week was:What is the worse case reason why my cat has lost his appetite?
Janelle MerrillAnswerHi – thanks for your email. There are many reasons cats won't eat. It is often one of the first signs of illness and can be associated with many different diseases.
You question was what is the worst case scenario – I suppose it would be an untreatable disease or cancer.
However, there are plenty of other reasons for cats not to eat. I'd recommend taking your cat to your veterinarian for an examination. They may be able to help you determine the underlying cause and give him any treatment that he needs. I wouldn't wait either - often when cats start to show their signs of illness such as not eating, they have already not been feeling well for longer that that.
