Our question this week was:Hi Dr. Jon – Our cat had its first litter. Two were ok. 2 she could not bring. I had to remove them after finding her in distress. The kitten was already dead. She had no milk and I had to give the kittens to a shelter. She is in heat again. Is there anything I can do to sooth her and help her through this until I can get her spayed? She is a small cat. I feel so badly for what she went through. She is howling and acting crazy. I know she must be in heat.

Barbara BorerAnswerHi – thanks for your email. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I'd recommend talking to your vet and getting her spayed. I think that is your best bet.
