How do I provide heat support to my sick cat?
By: Dr. Jon Rappaport

Our question this week was:

I have a sick cat and my vet told me to provide heat support at home but did not tell me how. Do you have any suggestions?

Violet R. Wheeling, Va.

Answer

Hi – thanks for your email Violet. Heat support is commonly a part of nursing care for sick cats. Many sick, elderly and debilitated cats are unable to maintain their body temperatures without external help.

There are several methods for providing heat support. Our editor just wrote a great pet tip on it and I'm going to give you the link to go to it now. It is what you need to know.

An article that might be helpful to you is Nursing Care for Cats.

Best of luck!
