Hi – thanks for your email. Great question. There are several things you can do to make your cat or dog live as long and healthy as possible. All pets can get diseases and illness that are out of our control but a lot about their wellness and care are within their control.

Some suggestions include: Make sure they are current on vaccines, keep them safe from toxins and injuries, walk on a leash, ensure that they have a collar with an ID tag, ensure they are getting a good quality diet and have lots of fresh clean water. Prevent all preventable diseases and problems such as fleas, ticks and heartworms by veterinarian recommended products.
