Is Feline Pine Cat Litter Good for Cats?

Natural pet products are very popular right now, but are they safe? One such product is Feline Pine natural litter. Many cat lovers want to know whether Feline Pine cat litter is safe for pets. I want to give you a vet's opinion on cat litter in general and Feline Pine in particular.

What makes a good litter? The best cat litter is the one that your cat likes and is willing to use. Most types of commercial cat litter are clay-based formulas. Some are designed to clump when they get wet. Other types of litter include those made of paper, wood, corn, wheat, and silica to name just a few.

Feline Pine is one variety of natural litter made of sanitized and pressed wood pulp. These pellets absorb moisture and eliminate odors without the use of artificial colors or scents. It comes in clumping and non-clumping varieties, and has been formulated to reduce dust. Feline Pine is also flushable and can be disposed of safely outdoors.

But is it safe for cats? In a vet's opinion, yes-it is safer than the clay-based litters which are far more common. It is not unusual for cats to accidentally or intentionally eat litter. Clumping clay litter can build up blockages in a cat's digestive system. However, pine is far less likely to cause similar issues. In addition, Feline Pine and other natural wood litters typically contain less dust than clay-based litters.

No litter is perfect, though, and Feline Pine does have drawbacks. It can be more expensive and harder to find than clay-based litters. Non-clumping varieties can be harder to clean than clay-based litters, and in my experience the odor control of pine litters is not as good as clay litters. Many cats also track the lightweight pine litter around the house.

Is Feline Pine litter good for cats? I would say that it is. It is safe, effective, and better for the environment. It is more expensive than clay litter and may not clump as well or smell as nice, but it is still a good option for many cat lovers.

I hope this article has helped you learn if Feline Pine cat litter is good for cats.
