Our question this week was:My cat has suddenly changed personalities. He has lost interest in going outside, which he usually does frequently. He is reclusive, hiding inside a cabinet that he's never been interested in before. He doesn't want to play or eat, however we did get him to eat some soft food. I can't get him into the vet until Friday, but I'm not sure he'll make it that long. This just isn't my cat. Please help, he's like my son.
Don AnswerHi – thanks for your email Don. Sorry to hear about your cats acting different. To me, that sounds like he doesn't feel well for one reason or another. I'd recommend having him checked by your veterinarian immediately. In the mean time, make sure he is eating and drinking well. Offer him canned food or whatever you can get him to eat. If you can't get to your vet during office hours, check to see if there is an emergency clinic close to you that might be able to see him sooner. You are right – I wouldn't want to wait too long.
