My Cat is in heat – is there any homeopathic remedy to calm her down?

Our question this week was:

I haven't been able to afford to get my two cats fixed yet. They are indoor cats and never go outside anyway. My one cat is in heat right now. Is there anything I can do to calm her down? What I read on the internet just disgusted me to no end and I would never do that to any animal. So is there a homeopathic remedy or some medicine I can get from the vet? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi – thanks for your email. Basically the answer is no, there is no great home remedy or homeopathic remedy for dealing with cats in heat. The BEST thing to do is to get them fixed. I understand you can't afford it but I'd find a low cost spay neuter place in town and figure something out. Cats are a responsibility and we owe it to them to the best for them, which includes getting them fixed.
