Ragdoll cat biting his claws!
By: Dr. Jon Rappaport

Our question this week was:

Why does my Ragdoll cat bite his toe nails (claws) as he grooms his paws?

Answer

Hi – thanks for your email. Your emailed ask, why does your cat bite his toe nails (claws). Some cats do that as a way of grooming and others can do it out of anxiety. It can be a behavioral problem similar to people that bite their nails.

We have a really good article on nail biting on PetPlace.com. The articled was written by a leading behaviorist – Dr. Nicholas Dodman I think it might help to answer your questions. Go to "Nail Biting in Cats"

Best of luck!
