Tip on Feeding Baby Food to Cats that Won't Eat

Here is a tip from one of our PetPlace.com users:

This is a suggestion that I have given to many people (of course they are to check with their vet before they try it) I have (and have had) cats with Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) and I found when they are further into the disease sometimes they don't want to eat because of the CRF or of other diseases they might have contracted (cancer) while having CRF.

Anyway vets suggest syringe feeding cat food gravy to them when they wont eat - I found that Gerber's Beef baby food (or Beechnut) is much easier to syringe (I added a little milk to the jar) and they, in return get some nutrients needed since they are not eating.

I have two (2) cats now with CRF one is 19 and has MOST of his teeth removed and even though he does eat normally he wont get as much as I would like to see him eat so he is feed a spoonful of baby food when he wants it at night - All my cats love the Beef baby food so I know if they ever get sick I'll have at least something I know they will eat or be able to syringe to them.
