When buying a cat bowl, make sure it is big enough to comfortably hold the amount of food appropriate for your cat.

For example, if your cat normally eats ½ cups per meal, choose a bowl size that holds at least 1 cup. This extra size allows to food to sit in the bowl rather than level or heaping which gives your cat room to comfortably eat and make less of a mess.
