Cats like to be high – as it allows them to feel safe as they can explore their environments for any signs of danger. They also are naturally curious. Therefore, cats frequently jump up on tabletops and counters to the annoyance of many pet owners.

What can you do? There are many "remedies" including cleaning counters with citrus type cleaners that can act as a deterrent, using tape and other items on the counter that stick to paws to create and unattractive environment.

Another option is the "Scatmat". The scatmat is a device that delivers harmless, low-power electronic pulses similar to static electricity. The mat can be used on counters, tables, to protect furniture, or to block doorways.

When activated (touched), the battery sends tiny pulses to the mat for three seconds. These surprising little "zaps" quickly repel most pets to stay away after one or two exposures--even after the mat is removed.

This mat is veterinarian approved, the mat works when all else fails. Use in conjunction with normal training techniques and surface cleaning.
