World's Longest Cat
By: Alex Lieber

What does a 98-pound, 3 1/2-foot long cat eat? Anything he wants to! In fact, that is just the sort of royal treatment that Snowbie has come to expect. Declared the world's longest cat by the Guinness Book of Records in 1997, Snowbie measures a total of 40.8 inches, from nose to tail.

Owned by Lorna Sutherland, of Scotland, Snowbie was neutered at 3 months of age and hasn't stopped growing. The affectionate white cat was 4 years old at the time he won the distinction as the world's longest cat.

According to the Guinness Book of Records, Snowbie has an enviable lifestyle. His owner feeds him a can of tuna fish and either smoked ham or flaked turkey for breakfast, along with low-fat cream and a little coffee. At bedtime, he eats a bowl of rice pudding. Before going to sleep, his bed is heated with a warm towel.
