Bewitching Guide to Halloween Costumes

Like everybody else this haunted holiday, your dog needs a costume – and there are plenty of places to find one. Traditional favorites are the ballerina's tutu and the Superman suit; however, the French maid and the Egyptian are also popular.

We scoured the Web to come up with a buyer's guide to bewitching dog duds – from devils to witches to pumpkins to ghosts – even a king and queen. We even found a bird costume or two. Here's the scoop:

  • Angel. An Angel or Devil? Maybe this year allow your favorite little angel to dress up. This adorable dog costume comes with wings and a charming halo for $12.95.   • Top Hat and Tails. For the most elegant cat in your life a "Top Hat & Tails" is an excellent costume to make your feline a distinguished fellow. Available at www.costumesinc.com for $9.99. A black top coat and hat is available for your canine friend for $21.95, at www.anniescostumes.com.

  • Birdie Bunny and Feather Witch. What about the bird in your life? You can dress him up as a feather witch, a love birdie – even your favorite Uncle Sam. Costumes are sized to fit both smaller and larger birds and range in price from $25.95 to $29.95. Available from www.featherwear.com.

  • Pumpkin. Turn your pooch into a pumpkin with Ragdog's bright orange panne velvet costume complete with a jolly jack o' lantern face grinning on the back.
