Our question this week was:Do dogs get grey hair like people do? When do they get it?
Mike H.AnswerHi – thanks for your email Mike. You asked if dogs get grey hair like people do as they age. The answer is that some do get some grey hair and some dogs don't. If they get grey hair – generally it is restricted to the muzzle area. When they get it varies as well. Some will get it when they are 5 to 7 years old, others older, and some never grey.
Dogs will also develop a normal aging change called lenticular sclerosis as they reach about 7 years. The lens of the eye becomes denser and looks white or cloudy.
