Molly Brittanicca AnswerHi Molly - thanks for your email. Your question was – do I think a black Labrador retriever is a good breed for families? I love labs. I think in general they are a great dog and very good for families with children.
They are very friendly and many are high energy dogs – especially during the first couple of years. They can require a lot of exercise and time. They are affectionate and loyal. Out of the basic lab colors, chocolate, black and yellow, the black lab is known to be slightly higher strung in some breed lines.
Look at the parent dogs to determine their personalities before buying a dog and look at the breeder and get some recommendations.
