Generally, medication is the last resort for treating dog anxiety. Most veterinarians prefer to treat it nonpharmacologically if possible. However sometimes medications are prescribed. Examples of dog anti-anxiety medications include:
clomipramine (Clomicalm®),
fluoxetine (Prozac®) or
amitriptyline (Elavil®).
