Hero Rescue Dogs Need Your Help

By whatever name You are called, please hear our prayer for those who today are searching the rubble for the victims of the terrorists. Booties should range from medium-size to large
The above quotation is the beginning of a prayer spoken on behalf of search-and-rescue teams, the dogs and their human handlers who struggle among the rubble to save life or find a body. The work is grim; it will only grow more so over time.
The more than 300 dogs involved are said to be so dedicated they have to be pulled from the wreckage to provide them with necessary rest, food and veterinary care. They must walk over jagged remains of the towers and ignore the overwhelming amount of dust and soot that resulted from the attacks.
The rescue dogs and their handlers are in desperate need of your help to continue their efforts. All sorts of supplies, many of which are listed below, are needed, along with any donations that can be sent. The dogs, for instance, are wearing through booties at an amazing rate. These booties are necessary to protect the dogs' sensitive paws from the rubble-strewn ground. Presently, burlap wrapped around paws and legs are being pressed into service, slowing the progress of the search.
To contribute booties, please clearly identify the packages as RESCUE DOG SUPPLIES and send them to:

Your prayers are also needed, for the search teams, the casualties, their families and for the United States in this time of crisis. Please forward the following prayer used for the search and rescue teams to friends and relatives:
Oh Most High,
By whatever name You are called, please hear our prayer for those who today are searching the rubble for the victims of the terrorists. Grant strength to the searchers, both human and canine, so that their resolve does not weaken and their determination does not flag. Guide their hands, heads, hearts and paws as they sift through the debris in the wake of evil. Help them to understand how much we value their dedication and sacrifice. May the work of the dogs and their human partners meet with success.
