Answer

Hi – thanks for your email Diane. It can be normal for puppies to loose their teeth (just like kids) as they get their adult teeth. It is not normal for an adult dogs tooth to fall out just as it is not normal for an adult persons tooth to just fall out.

It can happen to dogs after oral trauma or secondary to diseased teeth that causes the tooth to become loose and eventually fall out.

Best of luck!
