My 5-year-old hybrid wolf is not eating
By: Dr. Jon Rappaport

Our question this week was:

I Have a 5-year-old hybrid wolf that has not wanted to eat for several days. She will drink water. She seems to have spurts of energy. She does hold her ears up and pays attention to what is going on around her. What could the cause of this be?

Answer

Hi – thanks for your email. From what you described, your concern is that your 5-year-old wolf hybrid is not eating – not for several days. I'd am very concerned. Is she having any other symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea?

Not eating, or anorexia, is a very common symptom in dogs. It can be associated with just about every disease that dogs can get. An article that might be helpful to you is on our Petplace.com is "Anorexia in Dogs".

If it has been going on for several days, this can be very serious. I'd recommend that you take her to your local veterinarian or veterinary emergency clinic as soon as possible.

Best of luck!
