My dog doesn't want to play anymore
By: Dr. Jon Rappaport

Our question this week was:

My dog doesn't want to play anymore. He is very quiet and shakes a lot. He doesn't eat as much anymore or drink very much. He is also vomiting and wants to sleep a lot.

Answer

Hi – thanks for your email.

It sounds like your dog is having several potentially very significant problems. Lethargy, loss of appetite, vomiting are all potentially severe symptoms. They can be associated with a number of diseases including cancer. I'd recommend that you see your veterinarian as soon as possible. They may want to do some blood work and urinalysis to get a baseline evaluation of your dogs health.

Best of luck!
