Here is a tip from one of our PetPlace.com users:
When I lived down in Florida, I worked at a small hospital and more than once, humans walking their dogs came into the emergency room with serious snake bites. In the course of this I was told that most snakes will let the first disturbance pass and bite on the second one. A second dog or person could be seriously injured, lose part of their leg or even die.
Caution should be advised if walking your pet in heavily wooded areas or lush tropical environments. Be alert and be sure not to let your dog go off the leash as you may put yourself and your pet in jeopardy.
