Fleas are frustrating small insects that uses it mouth parts to bite dogs and drain off blood. A single flea can bite a dog 400 times in a day! Young puppies can be at special risk as fleas can drain a dangerously large amount of blood.

The problem with puppies is that many times the fleas are hard to find and puppies may be too young to use traditional flea chemicals. If this is the case with your pup, don't forget chemical-free methods of flea removal. Use a flea comb to scoop up the fleas, then trap them with cellophane tape for easy disposal.
