What does BDLD mean?

Our question this week was:

Dr. Jon – my dog was at the emergency room (got into a dog fight) and his chart said his problem was BDLD – what does that mean?

Answer

Hi – thanks for your email Nancy. BDLD is a common abbreviation that stands for Big Dog/Little Dog – referring to a dogfight. It is commonly used for any type of dogfight injury.
