Welcome to 2008, a year that promises both humans and companion animals will spend more time at home enjoying simple creature comforts. The alignment of planets (such as powerful Pluto and self-serving Saturn) and lunar cycles will influence each of the 12 Sun signs.

The ups and downs of global events continue to strengthen the animal-human bond. This year, pets will discover their role as a constant companion is an important one. In 2008 Mother Nature will play a part in pets' lives throughout the four seasons. This year may mean a less material world but that doesn't mean cats, dogs, fish, small and big domestic animals will go without exercise, training, vet visits, and love.

So, animal friends, both domestic and wild, embrace the New Year during the best and worst of times. Simply put, be guardian angels for your two-leggers and creatures in the animal world. Face challenges and reap rewards of comfort and joy. Let the future times roll. Stay cool.
