Our question this week was:What is a safe chew bone for dogs? I have a 27 pound cocker-terrier mix.

Great question! I'm glad you are thinking about safety as you choose a bone or toy for your dog.
My very favorite chew toys are the durable Kong brand toys. They come in a variety of sizes and styles. Some styles allow you to hide a treat which can keep dogs really busy for hours.
As far as chew bones, I'd recommend the nylabone type bones. Avoid bones and chews that are indigestible. A dog that eats them quickly can have gastric upset. Some dogs can get esophageal obstructions from eating or ingesting bones that are too big or too small.
