American Shorthair - Tedi and Sassy How Tedi Picked ME

American Shorthair - Tedi and Sassy How Tedi Picked ME

You have heard stories about how animals pick their owners? This actually happened to me when I went to adopt a cat from our local animal shelter. I walked in to this pet food warehouse that was located around Southern Wisconsin, and they have satellite adoption centers for cats at these pet food places. I walked in to a room filled with adoptable cats. So many to choose from, and I wasn’t sure which one to pick. I saw this orange long hair cat, with a pushed in nose and thought he might be interesting. He didn't really give me the time of day, so I sat in one of the rocking chairs with a perplexed look on my face.

There were about 15 cats in that room, and which one to pick? All of a sudden, up jumped this grey and white tabby cat on to my lap. She looked at me and went "meow???" Almost like "HI! Pick me??"

And I was hooked. She picked me, because from what I found out, she was a one-person cat. She didn't go to anyone else. But, she neglected to tell me in her little "meow" that she came with a sister. So, I looked in the cage where the volunteer pointed, and there was another long hair grey and beautiful cat that was peering over the edges of her little box at me like "who are you?" The people who had surrendered them asked that they be adopted together. I changed their names, to Tedi and Sassy, both girls, and we were off.

I went in looking for one cat, and came home with two. Just because my little grey and white tabby picked me. Both are the best cats ever. I have had them since 1999. And they have moved with me all over the place.
