One day while walking to the library with my dog, I spotted a tiny set of dark ears in the weeds along side the street. After tying my dog nearby, I went to investigate. I found a very sick and small kitten sitting in the sun. I argued with my self all the way to the library and back, deciding that if the little guy was still there it would come home with me. Well, he was, so off we went.
I called the vet about what to do, and fed him pedialite. He had an upper respiratory infection, and only weighed a pound and a half. We estimated him to be about 10 weeks, and had him tested for leukemia and HIV. After the tests came back, we named him Lucky Too, since my very first kitty years ago was named Lucky. This little guy is lucky to be alive, since he was so sick he wouldn't eat.
He has turned out to be my husband's cat, and is slowly learning to enjoy being petted and combed. He follows my older cat, Mr. Truffle all over the house, and tries to wrestle with my dog. He enjoys sitting on the windowsills and watching the outdoors, and has his own chair in my office. I hope that we enjoy his company for many years to come.
