Not only do we have Play dates - we attend two different playgroups a week - of which I happen to co-lead. I started attending playgroups when I got Cheyenne at 11 weeks old - and we've been attending ever since. The first playgroup we attended ended up getting shut down - so another lady and myself starting looking around for another place to hold our playgroup. We grew from there and now we meet at a local vet clinic on Saturdays and on Wednesday nights we meet at a local Petco store. We've been doing this now for almost 3 years. Both of our "older dogs" Cheyenne and Paige are both 3 - no longer "play" with the younger dogs - they are now the "matrons" of the group - but sure help teach those young whipper-snappers what is polite play and what isn't. Renee and I keep up attending weekly and try to help other owners to socialize their dogs successfully. It works - it's fun and you too can start a playgroup.
