My husband and I were camping with our black lab during hunting season one year. We always tied him when we left to go hunting as we walked from camp into the hills behind us. Well we had been gone for several hours and when we had returned, "Tucker" was gone. We called and called and still no Tucker. His collar was not on the chain so we thought maybe someone untied him. We went driving around looking for him for a couple hours and when we got back to camp there was Tucker tied to his chain. We couldn’t figure this out but when we returned home several days later our oldest daughter told us the story of how tucker was returned to our campsite. He was wearing his collar and Id tag and he had somehow gotten off the chain and some people found him a few miles down the road. They called the number on the tag and our daughter told them where we were camped so they took him there and not seeing anyone there, they tied him to the chain. Ever since then we have always kept a collar and id tag on all our dogs!
