I got "Precious" (but she answers to "Little Girl") when she was just 7 weeks old from a very good loving family. I have a very rare disease called Myasthenia Gravis, Polymiositis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Bi-Polar 1 and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
I am on 11 medications for all of my problems and they help tremendously. However, since she was about 6 months old, before I even knew I was going to have an Anxiety Attack or Panic Attack, no matter where I was sitting she would come to me and sit at my feet and just stare at me! Bingo.....in just a few seconds or minutes sure enough I would have a doozy!! She jumps up onto the arm of the chair or sofa next to me and won't leave until it's over! AMAZING!!!
She's also EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT! Her favorite toy(s) are different colored fake mice. I keep them in a straw basket on top of the refrigerator and if she sees me go near it she goes bonkers...runs to the living room, crouches, ears alert and doesn't take her eyes off my LEFT HAND!!! I throw the mouse as far as I can and she FETCHES IT AND BRINGS IT RIGHT BACK TO ME TO THROW AGAIN!
If I'm too exhausted (because of the diseases and dire necessity for rest & sleep) to throw mice or toss her rope around she'll be patient with me for just so long, then she'll jump up and "nip" my arm or LEFT HAND! While I'm sitting and throwing her mice around, I can make any tiny movement with my LEFT HAND and she's gone after it like a flash; however, if I make ANY MOVEMENT AT ALL WITH MY RIGHT HAND...SHE DOESN'T BUDGE!
If I'm having a really bad day pain-wise and the morphine just isn't doing the trick, I'll lay down and she's right beside me...she HAS TO TOUCH ME! She opens doors by the pull-down handle, when I go "pee" she's like a dog, right on my tail and she has to "pee" at the same time! I spend 90% of my time in my electric wheelchair and if she see's me headed for the hallway door to the elevator she's in my lap before you can count to 2 and rides down the elevator, visits with everyone in the Community Room, and if I decide to go outside and sit in the sun and socialize...out she goes with me.
She absolutely HATES to be alone, or away from me! Also, if she wants to play with a certain toy, she'll actually go get it and bring it to me and set it at my feet...hint..hint! The only drawback is that she REFUSES to be BRUSHED or petted other than her head. She's longhaired and gets terrible mats and the only way to get rid of them is to take her to the Vet and have her anesthetized in order to remove them at a cost of about $150.00!!!
The first time I took her for de-matting I tried my darndest to get to understand that if they try to do ANYTHING to her below her head SHE WILL "GROWL", EARS BACKED DOWN AND PUPILS DIALATED AND WILL TRY TO RIP YOUR ARM OFF! Well, they didn’t listen and one of the Techs was bitten badly, so now they have a FLOURESCENT ORANGE TAG on her folder stating "CAUTION".
I asked the VET why the biting and not allowing anyone to touch her body. He stated that she is a Hybrid. Neither her mother nor father had at least a "bob-tail", therefore she has not even a stub and that her breed (Manx/Lynx) is prone to this type of disposition. But she's the love of my life and would never consider getting rid of her. We are soooo in-tune to each other it's scary.
