In May, my husband and I started to think about getting a couple of cats that needed to be adopted together. It did not matter if they were siblings or just good friends.
Surfing the Internet, we found two beautiful Manx brothers, Mortimer and Conan, who wanted to be adopted before their next birthday! Conan and Mortimer are Gemini’s and like most Manx cats, they are quite verbal and quick with their paws! Variety is the spice of their life to be sure!
At the time of their adoption, they were 8 years old and had been in one foster home after another for quite some time. Allergy issues seemed prominent in their profile. Mortimer's allergy to chicken is a big challenge! Most cat foods contain chicken, chicken meal or poultry by-products. Special ordering their food was essential.
In their birth charts both the Sun and Mars in Gemini square their Virgo Moon and often this manifests as a skin or digestive allergy. Mortimer had thinning hair - even bald spots on his ears and abdomen at the time of his adoption. After being on organic venison, rabbit and lamb - both boys have flourished into adorable fluff balls!
They had been declawed long before we adopted them and Pluto in Sagittarius in opposition to their Gemini Mars may account for that. Although I disapprove of declawing, they seem well adapted and have great dexterity in spite of it. We have play time at least once a day to promote exercise and prevent boredom! How fortunate we live in a house with 24 windows which serve as a television for them when our set is off. Mortimer actually likes to watch television and will sit like a person in the easy chair watching for hours! Conan usually just takes a nap on top of my shoes or slippers. His Jupiter is in Pisces after all!!
These two are the most social cats I have ever known - so typical of the Gemini motif! When friends come to the door they are ready to sniff their shoes and wait for petting! They curl up - and possibly take mental notes - when we are in conversation!
They love to nap with us after much purring, kneading and petting on the bed! Adoration seems to suit them well! We do not know if they have Leo as their rising sign - but then again, all cats are ruled by Leo, the sign of the cat!
