The anal glands are small scent glands that sit on each side of the rectum. They can become clogged or abscessed in some cats although it is a more common problem in dogs. Signs of problems include: pain, scooting, and constant licking. If anal glands are not a problem for your cat, we suggest that you leave them alone.
