Lameness is any decrease in an animal's ability to bear weight on a limb or a reduction in the normal mobility and function of a limb. Lameness can be extremely subtle or profound, affecting one or more limbs at any or all times. There are many underlying causes of lameness: broken bones, tumors, ligament or muscle injuries or arthritis. If your pet is lame, see your veterinarian to determine the underlying cause
