Do cats get senile? The short answer is yes. I get this question a lot as cats get age. Sometimes they walk around meowing or seem confused. Sometimes they will start sleeping in totally different locations as though they have forgotten their prior patterns.
The common term used for senility or dementia is “cognitive dysfunction”. The two most common complaints of owners with senile cats are loss of housetraining and wandering during normal sleep time. But there are several other signs.
