It is a sad fact of life that many animals suffer abuse of some kind during their lives. Abuse can take the form of physical assaults or punishment, but many pets also suffer from the silent abuse of neglect. Not everyone is familiar with all the different kinds of abuse or how to spot the signs that an animal has suffered from abuse.

An animal that has been abused in a sensitive stage of their development may suffer symptoms of their hard times for years if not a lifetime. Frequently, however, love, patience and a bit of education in caregivers can make all the difference in the world for these animals.
