My cat has nail polish on his head and I cant get it off
Our question this week was:
Dr. Debra – my cat walked across my counter when I was doing my nails and somehow ended up with nail polish all over the hair on his head. Is there anything I can do?

Hi – thanks for your email. You wrote that your cat has nail polish on his head. If it is wet – I’d recommend that you try to wipe as much off as possible. If it is dry – then if it is VERY superficial and you can probably trim the tips of the hairs and cut it off. If it is deeper in the hair – you could use professional grooming trimmers to get it of. I would not recommend scissors for fear of cutting your cat skin (which can be easy to do). If it is not bothering him and it is in an area that he can’t groom it off, then it will probably be okay and go away with time.
If it is bothering you or him – another option would be to take him to your vet for a trim or your groomer’s.
