Our question this week was:
Dr. Debra – have you ever heard of Honeysuckle being used in cats? My cat was boarding and she started giving it honeysuckle.

Answer
Hi – thanks for your email. You wrote asking “What is Honeysuckle used for in cats?” Well – this is not extremely common but I’ve read that it is used as a “Bach flower remedy” – which is a plant essence. A doctor named Bach developed some remedies for people in the early 1900’s. They can be given orally or “sprayed” in a room. Some recommend that they be applied to the skin.
Honeysuckle is sometimes used for stress. Some believe it has some calming effects on cats that are boarding or in a new home.
Best of luck!
Dr. Debra
