Our question this week was:
Dr. Debra – What is a good source of calcium for dogs?
Hi – thanks for your email. You wrote asking about what is a good source of calcium for dogs. There is calcium in dog foods and if you are feeding a premium food – your dog should be getting enough to meet AAFCO recommended standards.
Supplements such as Tums – has calcium carbonate and is a source for some dogs. As far as foods – dairy foods such as milk, cheese, yogurt, tofu are good sources. Vegetables such as bok choi, broccoli, cauliflower and greens beans are also reasonable sources.
I’m not sure why you are asking for sources of calcium for your dog. Discuss your question with your veterinarian to ensure your dog is eating the best food for his needs.

Best of luck!
