NYC Pet Project: Friends Forever

When you think of your pet, what words come to mind? If your pet could read, what would your letters say?

Authors Edward J. Kaczmarek III and Michael J. La Rue collected the answers to these questions in the form of hundreds of letters, which are published in the book NYC Pet Project (Good Books Publishing, Inc.). The book is a compendium of letters and portraits of New Yorkers – ordinary and famous.

Tippy Toes, a cross-bred pony, came to Chelsea Kellish as a birthday gift. Now, T.T., as the pony is affectionately nicknamed, is Chelsea's best friend:

Dearest T.T.,

You came into my life for a reason. It must have been fate meeting you. You came to me so I could work you into shape. You were a gift for my 12th birthday. Don't tell anyone, but you were my favorite gift. Instead of me working you into shape, we worked each other into shape. You have changed the way I ride for the better. I am so proud to have a best friend like you. I love you and hope to be riding buddies forever.Hugs and kisses,

Chelsea

The letter appears within the NYC Pet Project book in the author's actual handwriting.
