The popular Baja rosy boa, Lichanura trivirgata saslowi, is a small, distinctively marked boa that originally comes from central Baja. If you buy a captive-bred specimen, make sure that it isn't a cross with another rosy boa subspecies. These crosses are not as valuable as the purebred Bajas and are considered "mongrels."
