Perhaps the most common snake in the northeastern United States is the small and gentle Dekay's snake. Feed this pencil-sized snake small earthworms, as larger earthworms are harder to swallow. Feed them only two or three times a week. Remember that these little snakes won't eat a worm if it's too big or if they are not hungry.
