Tokay Gecko Tip

Tokay geckos can be housed together, if each has its own hiding area. Tokays don't require a lot of room and two can live well in a 15-gallon tank. Use a substrate that is easily and quickly changed or cleaned. Due to the potential aggressive nature of this lizard, you don't want to linger too long in the cage. Their bite, although not dangerous, can really hurt. These rainforest lizards are comfortable at room temperatures ranging from 77 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Mist their cage daily if ambient humidity is less than 40 percent. The basking area under the hot-spot should measure 100 F.
