Tips on Avoiding Urinary Disorders in Rabbits

To keep your rabbit from getting urinary disorders, feed limited amounts of pellets after 1 to 2 years of age. Offer timothy or low-calcium grass hays at all times, instead of alfalfa hay, which is too high in calcium for adult rabbits. Provide abundant fresh clean water at all times. Ask your veterinarian to check a urine sample as well as full blood profile on a yearly basis after age 3.
