Melissa is a licensed veterinary technician who earned her Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) in Emergency and Critical Care in 2018. Melissa has worked at referral and specialty hospitals in both New Jersey and New York as an Emergency, ICU, and Critical Care technician. Currently, she works per diem for specialty hospitals throughout New York City and is the owner of Melissa Evans, VTS (ECC) – Veterinary Nurse Consulting.
Melissa is a RECOVER CPR certified instructor and often teaches workshops in companion animal CPR. She has experience in shelter, wildlife, and disaster medicine. The satisfaction of helping animals, who are unable to communicate their ailments during critical situations, is one of Melissa’s favorite things about Emergency Medicine. The animal snuggles don’t hurt either!
